Amazon EC2 Future-dated Capacity Reservations Now Supports Cancellation

Amazon EC2 future-dated Capacity Reservations now allow cancellation of reservations, with potential charges displayed for review before proceeding.

Amazon EC2 future-dated Capacity Reservations enable customers to secure capacity up to 120 days in advance by specifying required capacity, start date, and commitment duration. With this update, customers can now cancel their future-dated reservations. If a cancellation charge applies, EC2 presents a quote with exact terms for review and acceptance before the cancellation takes effect. Any cancellation charges can be tracked in the AWS Cost and Usage Report (CUR) 2.0 under a new value in the Capacity Reservation Status column. This feature is available to all future-dated Capacity Reservation customers. Refer to the AWS Capabilities by Region website for regional availability. For more details, see the Capacity Reservation user guide.
