Amazon OpenSearch Service announces additional upgrade runway for existing domains and support dates for additional versions

Amazon OpenSearch Service is extending security and OS patch coverage for legacy Elasticsearch and OpenSearch engine versions through November 7, 2027, with updated support rates. It also announces standard and extended support dates for Elasticsearch versions 6.8, 7.9, 7.10, OpenSearch version 1.3, and OpenSearch versions 2.11 to 2.19.

It integrates findings from existing tools and its own scans, prioritizes them using a context graph of the environment and business, and validates exploitability by building reproducible proof in an isolated sandbox. Confirmed exposures receive fast, reversible mitigations within guardrails, followed by durable fixes routed through the user's review and deployment process
