Amazon EC2 R8a instances are now available in the Canada (Central) Region. Powered by 5th Gen AMD EPYC processors with a maximum frequency of 4.5 GHz, they offer up to 30% higher performance and 19% better price-performance than R7a instances. With 45% more memory bandwidth, R8a instances are ideal for latency-sensitive workloads. They provide up to 60% faster GroovyJVM performance, improving request throughput and response times for critical applications. Built on the AWS Nitro System with sixth-generation Nitro Cards, R8a instances suit high-performance, memory-intensive tasks such as databases, in-memory caches, real-time analytics, and EDA applications. The instances come in 12 sizes, including two bare metal options, and are SAP-certified with 38% more SAPS than R7a instances.
