Amazon OpenSearch Service now supports OpenSearch version 3.7
Amazon OpenSearch Service now offers OpenSearch 3.7, introducing improvements to vector search performance, search relevance, and query insights.
Amazon OpenSearch Service now supports OpenSearch version 3.7. Key enhancements include 1-bit scalar quantization on Faiss and Lucene engines to compress vectors, reducing storage and memory for vector workloads while maintaining search accuracy. Vectors can now be retrieved faster using doc values instead of document source, with no reindexing required. The Search Relevance Workbench adds new evaluation metrics, CSV judgment uploads, and expanded hybrid search optimization to help measure and improve search quality. New Query Insights capabilities include automated query recommendations, a finished-queries cache for observing recently completed queries, and the option to export top query data to Amazon S3, enabling identification of expensive queries and analysis of trends over time. For upgrade instructions, see the documentation. OpenSearch 3.7 is now available in all AWS Regions where Amazon OpenSearch Service is offered.
