AWS Backup extends logically air-gapped vault support to six additional AWS Regions

AWS Backup now offers logically air-gapped vaults in six new regions: Asia Pacific (Taipei), Asia Pacific (Malaysia), Asia Pacific (New Zealand), Asia Pacific (Thailand), Mexico (Central), and Canada West (Calgary). This allows storage of immutable, isolated backups that are locked by default and encrypted using AWS-owned or customer-managed keys.

AWS Backup logically air-gapped vaults are now available in six additional AWS Regions: Asia Pacific (Taipei), Asia Pacific (Malaysia), Asia Pacific (New Zealand), Asia Pacific (Thailand), Mexico (Central), and Canada West (Calgary). With logically air-gapped vaults available in these Regions, you can store immutable, isolated backups that are locked by default and encrypted using AWS owned keys or customer-managed keys. You can back up directly to logically air-gapped vaults, copy backups across accounts and Regions, share vaults for recovery using AWS Resource Access Manager (RAM), and safeguard vault access during account compromise using Multi-party approval. To get started, visit the AWS Backup console, AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), or AWS SDKs. For a complete list of supported Regions and features, visit the AWS Backup documentation.
