AWS announces AWS Interconnect - multicloud connectivity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in GA

AWS Interconnect now generally available, enabling connections to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

AWS has announced the general availability of AWS Interconnect for multicloud connectivity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This service allows customers to quickly provision resilient, scalable private connections to other cloud providers, addressing the complexities of building and managing global multi-layered networks at scale that were previously required for multicloud strategies. OCI launched support for AWS Interconnect in public preview in May and is the latest cloud service provider to adopt the open specification powering the service. With today's GA launch, AWS customers can now use the same consistent, simple experience to interconnect their workloads on OCI and Google Cloud. Microsoft Azure will launch later in 2026. Interconnect for multicloud is available with OCI in the us-east-1 (N. Virginia) AWS Region. It can be created using the AWS Management Console, Command Line Interface (CLI), or API.
