AWS Sustainability now provides annual water withdrawal data, enabling users to assess environmental impact alongside carbon emissions.
The AWS Sustainability service now includes annual water withdrawal data for customers to view alongside existing carbon emissions data. This enhancement provides comprehensive visibility into environmental impact across both carbon and water usage. Water withdrawal data is available by AWS Region, service, and account on an annual basis through the AWS Sustainability console and API. The data represents the total volume of water withdrawn for data center operations, with efficiency improvements reflected as lower withdrawal volumes. This feature is available at no additional charge in all AWS Regions where the service is offered.
