Amazon EC2 C9g and C9gd instances now available in Asia Pacific (Tokyo) region
Amazon EC2 has launched C9g and C9gd instances powered by AWS Graviton5 processors in the Tokyo region, offering up to 25% better compute performance than previous Graviton4-based instances.
Amazon EC2's C9g and C9gd instances with AWS Graviton5 processors are now available in the Tokyo region. The Graviton5 processor, a 5th-gen custom CPU, delivers performance optimized for compute-intensive workloads. These instances offer up to 25% higher compute performance than C8g and C8gd instances, with up to 30% faster databases and up to 35% faster web applications and machine learning. Built on 6th-gen AWS Nitro systems and using the Nitro Isolation Engine for mathematically verified workload isolation, they are ideal for HPC, batch processing, gaming, video encoding, scientific modeling, distributed analytics, CPU-based ML inference, real-time analytics, and ad serving. C9gd instances also suit scratch space, temp files, and caching due to their high-speed, low-latency local storage. They can be purchased as Savings Plans, On-Demand, Spot, Dedicated, or Dedicated Hosts in the Tokyo region.
