Amazon EC2 launches R9g and R9gd instances powered by AWS Graviton5 processors

Amazon EC2 has launched R9g and R9gd instances powered by AWS Graviton5 processors. These instances are ideal for memory-intensive workloads such as databases, in-memory caches, real-time big data analytics, and containerized applications, offering up to 25% better compute performance compared to previous generation R8g/R8gd instances. R9gd instances provide local NVMe-based SSD storage, making them suitable for open-source databases and distributed real-time analytics. Built on the sixth generation AWS Nitro System, these instances feature the Nitro Isolation Engine for mathematically proven workload isolation.
