Amazon Aurora serverless now available with 30% better performance and smarter scaling in additional AWS Regions

Amazon Aurora serverless delivers up to 30% better performance and enhanced scaling, now available in new regions including Asia Pacific (New Zealand), Asia Pacific (Thailand), Africa (Cape Town), Europe (Milan), and Mexico (Central).

Amazon Aurora serverless has been updated to platform version 4, offering up to 30% performance improvements and enhanced scaling capabilities. These enhancements efficiently manage workloads with competing tasks, making it ideal for busy web applications, API services, and agentic AI applications with traffic bursts and idle periods. The updates are available for both Aurora PostgreSQL and Aurora MySQL at no additional cost. Existing clusters can upgrade via pending maintenance actions, restarts, or blue/green deployments.
