Introducing Amazon EC2 T8i instances
Amazon EC2 T8i instances feature custom 6th-gen Intel Xeon 6 processors, delivering up to 30% better price performance than T3 instances
AWS has launched the general availability of new low-cost burstable Amazon EC2 T8i instances, featuring custom 6th generation Intel Xeon 6 processors and built on the latest 6th generation AWS Nitro Cards. Offering up to 30% price-performance improvement over T3 instances, T8i instances come in four sizes: nano, micro, small, and medium. They deliver up to 70% better compute performance, 1.25x network bandwidth, and 2.4x EBS bandwidth compared to T3 instances. Using the same CPU credit system as T3 (standard and unlimited modes), existing T3 customers can upgrade to T8i for immediate price-performance gains and reduced TCO. For first-time AWS users or those migrating from on-premises, T8i instances are among the most cost-effective entry points for running a variety of workloads. T8i.micro and T8i.small are available in the AWS free tier. T8i instances are available in US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon, N. California), Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Paris), Asia Pacific (Hyderabad, Malaysia, Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo), and Canada (Central) regions. They can be purchased as on-demand instances, with spot instances and savings plan options coming soon.
