Amazon ECS Express Mode now allows specifying ARM64 as the CPU architecture, enabling easy deployment of ARM-based container images on AWS Graviton-powered compute.
Amazon Elastic Container Service Express Mode now supports the ARM64 CPU architecture, enabling deployment of ARM-based container images on AWS Graviton compute for up to 40% better price performance versus x86-based instances. Amazon ECS Express Mode orchestrates and manages cloud architecture to quickly launch containerized applications. Users only need to provide container images; ECS Express Mode configures networking, load balancing, autoscaling, and deployments, and supplies an auto-generated URL. ARM64 support allows selection of compute architecture that best fits workloads, including cost optimization, compatibility with existing fleets, and deployment of native ARM-built images. This feature is available in all AWS commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) regions via the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, AWS SDK, and infrastructure-as-code tools for both new and existing Amazon ECS Express Mode services.
