Amazon ECS Express Mode now supports AWS Graviton (ARM64) workloads

Amazon ECS Express Mode now allows specifying ARM64 as the CPU architecture, enabling easy deployment of ARM-based container images on AWS Graviton-powered compute.

Amazon Elastic Container Service Express Mode now supports the ARM64 CPU architecture, enabling deployment of ARM-based container images on AWS Graviton-powered compute for up to 40% better price performance than x86-based instances. It quickly launches containerized applications and orchestrates cloud architecture. Users supply container images while ECS Express Mode configures networking, load balancing, autoscaling, and deployments, providing an auto-generated URL. ARM64 support allows users to select compute architectures that fit workloads, including cost optimization, compatibility with existing fleets, and deployment of ARM-native images. This CPU architecture setting is available for new and existing ECS Express Mode services via the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, AWS SDK, and infrastructure-as-code tools, and is accessible in all AWS commercial regions and AWS GovCloud (US).
