Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports Supplemental Patch Bundle for July 2026 Release Update
Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports the Supplemental Patch Bundle for the July 2026 Release Update for Oracle Database versions 19c and 26ai, allowing upgrades of existing instances and use of AWS Organizations upgrade rollout policy for automatic minor version upgrades
Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports the July 2026 release update supplemental patch bundle (SPB) for Oracle Database versions 19c and 26ai. The SPB includes additional database patches recommended by Oracle for specific use cases such as Oracle Spatial, Oracle Data Pump, and Oracle GoldenGate, and was renamed from the Oracle Spatial patch bundle in the April 2026 release. To apply the SPB to new instances or upgrade existing instances to engine version 19.0.0.0.ru-2026-07.spb-1.r1 or 26.0.0.0.ru-2026-07.spb-1.r1, select the supplemental patch bundle engine version checkbox in the AWS console. For details on supported Oracle SPB for each Amazon RDS for Oracle engine version, see the Amazon RDS for Oracle release notes. You can also use AWS Organizations' upgrade rollout policy to gradually apply minor version automatic upgrades to Amazon RDS database instances. This feature allows you to automatically apply updates to non-production environments, validate them, and then automatically apply the same updates to production environments.
