Amazon WorkSpaces Personal Now Supports Ubuntu 24.04

AWS announces Ubuntu 24.04 LTS bundles for Amazon WorkSpaces Personal in the AWS China (Ningxia) Region, offering updated packages and security improvements.

AWS announces the availability of Ubuntu 24.04 LTS bundles for Amazon WorkSpaces Personal in the AWS China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. With this bundle, customers in China can launch Ubuntu WorkSpaces and benefit from updated Linux packages, toolchains, and security improvements exclusive to Ubuntu 24.04. The new Ubuntu 24.04 option provides access to the latest software ecosystem, improved security posture, and an extended support lifecycle. It also offers a migration path for customers running older Amazon Linux 2 WorkSpaces who wish to stay current with upstream packages and receive the longest available maintenance window from Canonical. Customers can start using the managed Ubuntu 24.04 WorkSpaces bundle by selecting it when creating a new Linux WorkSpace. This new bundle is available in the AWS China (Ningxia) Region.
