AWS CodeBuild adds support for Amazon Linux 2023 on on-demand build hosts, offering an updated Linux kernel and package improvements

AWS CodeBuild now supports Amazon Linux 2023 for on-demand build hosts through a new host kernel selection setting. This allows choosing between Amazon Linux 2 (Linux kernel 4) and Amazon Linux 2023 (Linux kernel 6). Amazon Linux 2023 includes an updated Linux kernel and glibc, along with package additions, upgrades, and removals. Users can validate Amazon Linux 2023 in non-production environments while keeping production builds unchanged. AWS GovCloud (US) and China Regions only support Amazon Linux 2023. Available in all AWS Regions where CodeBuild is offered
