AWS End User Messaging RCS now supports rich media and interactive messaging

AWS End User Messaging adds support for rich media and interactive messaging via RCS across 22 countries, enabling rich cards, carousels, images, videos, and interactive buttons, with RCS conversation pricing in 21 countries.

AWS End User Messaging now supports rich media and interactive messaging for RCS across all 22 supported countries. The new SendRcsMessage API allows sending rich cards, carousels, images, videos, and interactive suggestion buttons, enabling recipients to confirm appointments, browse product catalogs, complete payments in a webview, share their location, or interact with an AI agent-all without leaving their messaging app. Each interaction runs on the same AWS infrastructure used to build applications, with RCS acting as the interface layer connecting backend services, data, and AI directly to end users. AWS now supports four RCS message types (text, files, rich cards, carousels) usable with six actions (replies, URLs, webviews, phone calls, maps, calendar events), bringing web and mobile app experiences into conversations. Each message includes configurable SMS or MMS fallback for recipients without RCS. RCS Conversation pricing is introduced for 21 countries, offering a flat rate for unlimited messages within a 24-hour session, enabling back-and-forth workflows without per-message cost pressure. RCS messaging is available in all AWS Regions where AWS End User Messaging is offered.
