AWS Advanced Ruby Driver Wrapper is generally available

AWS Advanced Ruby Driver Wrapper is now generally available for Amazon RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL and MySQL-compatible databases, reducing failover times and improving application availability.

AWS advanced Ruby driver wrappers are now generally available for Amazon RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL and MySQL-compatible databases. This advanced database driver shortens RDS blue/green deployments, Aurora global database switches, and database failovers, improving application availability. It supports multiple authentication mechanisms, including AWS Secrets Manager and AWS IAM token-based authentication. Built on community pg and mysql2 drivers, it offers capabilities beyond standard database connections. The wrapper natively integrates with Aurora and RDS databases, monitoring cluster status and quickly connecting to a new writer after an unexpected failure. It seamlessly integrates with ActiveRecord through the provided aws_postgresql and aws_mysql2 adapters, enabling use without application code changes. The driver is provided as an open-source project under the Apache 2.0 license. See the GitHub repository description to get started.
