Amazon Q Business New2023年〜
A generative AI assistant that answers questions and summarizes information based on your enterprise data
What It Does
Amazon Q Business connects to your internal enterprise data (S3, SharePoint, Confluence, Slack, Salesforce, etc.) and uses a RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architecture to search, summarize, and answer natural language questions with accurate responses grounded in your company's own data.
Use Cases
Natural language queries against internal knowledge bases, meeting notes summarization, document search and summarization, new employee onboarding support, and customer support answer assistance.
Everyday Analogy
Think of a senior colleague who knows everything about the company. Ask "What was decided at last month's sales meeting?" or "How do I submit a travel request?" and they'll find the relevant information from internal documents and emails, then summarize it for you.
What Is Q Business?
Amazon Q Business is a generative AI assistant for enterprises. It connects to your internal data through 40+ data source connectors and generates answers grounded in that data. Answers include citations (source documents) so you can verify accuracy. It integrates with IAM Identity Center to ensure only data the user has permission to access is included in search results.
Data Sources and Guardrails
Q Business supports 40+ data sources including S3, SharePoint, Confluence, Slack, ServiceNow, Salesforce, and Jira. Administrators can restrict responses on specific topics with topic blocking and control answer scope with global controls. It respects data source ACLs (access control lists), so content from documents a user can't access is never included in answers. For a comprehensive overview of data sources and guardrails, technical books on Amazon are a good reference.
Getting Started
Create an application in the Q Business console and configure IAM Identity Center as the authentication provider. Add data source connectors and start index synchronization. A web experience URL is generated, and users can ask questions through a browser-based chat interface.
Things to Watch Out For
- Subscription-based pricing per user. Two plans available: Business Lite and Business Pro
- IAM Identity Center setup is a prerequisite. Integrating with existing Active Directory requires AD Connector or Managed Microsoft AD
