Amazon EC2 High Memory U7i instances now available in AWS Europe (Zurich) region
Amazon EC2 introduces High Memory U7i instances in the Europe (Zurich) region, offering large memory capacity and high-throughput processing for demanding workloads
Amazon EC2 has launched High Memory U7i-6TB instances (u7i-6tb.112xlarge) in the Europe (Zurich) region. Powered by fourth-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, U7i instances provide 6 TiB of DDR5 memory, enabling customers to scale transaction processing throughput in fast-growing data environments. These instances deliver up to 45% better price performance compared to existing U-1 instances, feature 448 vCPUs, and support up to 100 Gbps of Amazon EBS bandwidth, 100 Gbps network bandwidth, and ENA Express. They are ideal for running mission-critical in-memory databases such as SAP HANA, Oracle, and SQL Server.
Why it matters
This update impacts customers running databases or applications that require large memory capacity and high-throughput processing. High Memory instances are designed for large in-memory databases and transaction processing workloads.
