Amazon EC2 R8i instances now available in Israel (Tel Aviv) region
Amazon EC2 introduces R8i instances in the Tel Aviv region, enhancing performance for memory-intensive workloads.
Today, Amazon EC2 R8i instances became available in the Israel (Tel Aviv) region. Powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors exclusive to AWS, these instances deliver the highest performance and fastest memory bandwidth among comparable Intel processors in the cloud. They offer up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x more memory bandwidth than previous generation Intel-based instances, providing 20% higher performance than R7i instances, with even greater gains for specific workloads. R8i instances are ideal for memory-intensive workloads, especially those requiring the largest instance sizes or continuous high CPU usage. They come in 13 sizes, including two bare metal options and a new 96xlarge size for the largest applications. SAP-certified, they deliver 142,100 aSAPS, the highest among comparable machines in on-premises and cloud environments, offering exceptional performance for mission-critical SAP workloads. Customers can access these instances via the AWS Management Console, purchasing them through Savings Plans, On-Demand, or Spot instances.
