New feature

Amazon IVS Low-Latency Streaming now provides a failover slate

Amazon IVS Low-Latency Streaming now displays a failover slate to viewers when a broadcaster's stream is interrupted, ensuring they see an animated image instead of buffering or a frozen frame until the stream reconnects.

Amazon Interactive Video Service (Amazon IVS) Low-Latency Streaming displays a fallback slate to viewers when a broadcaster's stream interrupts unexpectedly. Viewers see the slate instead of buffering icons or frozen frames, and can wait until the broadcaster reconnects. Live playback resumes automatically without requiring viewers to refresh the player. Fallback slate helps retain viewers during temporary disruptions and is ideal for broadcasters streaming from mobile devices or unstable connections. You can enable fallback slate on new or existing channels and monitor slate activity with Amazon EventBridge events and Amazon CloudWatch metrics. Amazon IVS is a managed streaming solution that delivers low-latency or real-time video to global audiences.
