Amazon MSK now supports custom domain names for MSK Provisioned clusters

Amazon MSK Provisioned clusters now allow easy configuration of custom domain names for both ZooKeeper and KRaft modes.

Amazon MSK Provisioned clusters now enable custom domain name configuration at the cluster level for both ZooKeeper and KRaft metadata modes. This eliminates the need to configure each broker individually, simplifying cluster migrations, disaster recovery, and scaling without reconfiguration. The setting applies automatically to all brokers and persists through scaling operations, supporting both management modes equally.

Why it matters

This change is particularly useful for customers who route traffic through Network Load Balancers, require persistent endpoints across cluster operations, or must adhere to organizational naming conventions for security and compliance.
