Amazon MSK Connect and AWS Glue Schema Registry are now available in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud (Germany) region, enhancing tooling for streaming workloads.
Amazon MSK Connect and AWS Glue Schema Registry are now available in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud (Germany) region, offering customers a comprehensive toolset to build, connect, and manage Apache Kafka applications for streaming workloads alongside existing Amazon MSK Standard brokers. MSK Connect enables fully managed Kafka Connect clusters with automatic scaling, pay-per-use pricing, and no infrastructure provisioning, allowing deployment, monitoring, and scaling of connectors for data movement between Apache Kafka and external systems. AWS Glue Schema Registry, a serverless and free feature of AWS Glue, controls validation and evolution of streaming data using Avro, JSON, and Protobuf schemas, centrally managing data formats across isolated applications to reduce downstream failures and integrate with C# and Java applications built for Amazon MSK, Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, and AWS Lambda. For details, see the Amazon MSK Developer Guide and AWS Glue Schema Registry documentation.
