Amazon OpenSearch Service adds new Cluster Insights for faster diagnosis of cluster status

Amazon OpenSearch Service introduces 17 new cluster insights that automatically identify root causes of red and yellow cluster statuses and provide actionable recommendations

Amazon OpenSearch Service has expanded Cluster Insights with 17 new insights that detect root causes behind red and yellow cluster statuses and offer actionable recommendations. These insights address resource exhaustion scenarios such as JVM out-of-memory errors, sustained CPU saturation, and configuration issues like zone imbalance and misconfigured replica counts. Previously, diagnosing unassigned shards required manual correlation of metrics across nodes and zones. Now, OpenSearch Service automatically identifies specific constraints or misconfigurations and suggests tailored actions, such as scaling up instance types, increasing disk capacity, or correcting shard allocation settings, to restore cluster stability faster. These insights are available at no extra cost for domains running OpenSearch 1.0 or later and Elasticsearch 6.8 or later.
