Amazon Redshift integrates with Agent Toolkit for AWS for AI-assisted data warehouse management

Amazon Redshift has integrated with the AWS Agent Toolkit, allowing AI agents such as Claude Code and Kiro to directly build, query, troubleshoot, and migrate Redshift data warehouses and data lakes. This integration uses the AWS MCP server for authenticated API execution and includes Redshift skills. These skills provide SQL syntax references, metadata discovery, data loading patterns, materialized view best practices, function and data type guidance, and extensions like Qualify, Pivot, and Super. They also guide end-to-end data warehouse migrations, covering discovery, schema and SQL conversion, data movement, validation, and performance comparison. The skills work with both provisioned clusters and Serverless workgroups, require no infrastructure changes, and are available at no extra charge in all regions where Amazon Redshift and the AWS MCP Server are offered. To get started, install the aws-data-analytics plugin in your agent, which includes the MCP Server configuration and Redshift skills. Agents with MCP Server access can also discover and load skills at runtime without pre-installation.
