New feature

Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now supports customer managed keys

Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB adds support for customer managed keys, enhancing data encryption flexibility

Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now allows the use of customer managed keys from AWS KMS to encrypt data at rest for InfluxDB 2 database instances, InfluxDB 2 read replicas, and InfluxDB 3 clusters. Customers choose a symmetric key during resource creation, which cannot be changed afterward. This feature is available through the console, CLI, and API with no additional charges beyond standard KMS costs.

Why it matters

This update targets users running InfluxDB databases, offering enhanced security through improved data encryption options.
