AWS Elemental MediaLive now supports Video Aligned Locking, a feature that synchronizes video pipelines without requiring timecode from the source, eliminating the need for specialized hardware or complex external synchronization workflows.
AWS Elemental MediaLive now supports Video Aligned Locking, enabling pipeline synchronization without source timecode. Previously, frame-accurate synchronization required special hardware or complex external workflows. While timecode is common in high-production broadcasts, it is often hard to obtain and manage in typical digital streaming workflows. This feature uses visual signatures to automatically identify and align specific frames across multiple video streams, allowing frame-accurate input switching and linked cross-region single-pipeline channels over standard pipeline channels. It supports outputs such as HLS, MediaPackage, CMAF Ingest, UDP, and SRT.
