AWS Elemental MediaLive enables frame-accurate pipeline locking for streams without timecode

AWS Elemental MediaLive now supports Video Aligned Locking, allowing frame-accurate synchronization of video pipelines without timecode, enabling precise input switching across standard and cross-region single-pipeline channels.

AWS Elemental MediaLive now supports Video Aligned Locking, enabling frame-accurate pipeline synchronization without timecode. Previously, this required specialized hardware or complex external workflows. While timecode is common in high-production broadcasts, it is often difficult to obtain and manage in typical digital streaming workflows. Video Aligned Locking uses visual signatures to automatically identify and align specific frames across multiple video streams, allowing frame-accurate input switching on standard and single-pipeline cross-region channels. It supports outputs such as HLS, MediaPackage, CMAF Ingest, UDP, and SRT. For setup details, see the documentation on Video Aligned Locking requirements.
