AWS DevOps Agent adds support for bidirectional Slack communication
AWS DevOps Agent now allows engineers to manage production operations across AWS, multicloud, and on-premises environments directly within Slack, enabling questions about AWS resources, system metrics, alarm status, deployment history, and incident patterns
AWS DevOps Agent enables engineers to manage AWS, multi-cloud, and on-premises production operations within Slack. This update integrates both surfaces into a single unified place for incident response, eliminating context switching. Engineers can start and control investigations by mentioning AWS DevOps Agent in a connected Slack private channel, with all research activities-including team context contributions, agent findings, and recommended actions-captured in a single thread. Queries about AWS resources, system metrics, alarm statuses, deployment history, and incident patterns reduce cognitive load and significantly streamline production operations. The feature is available in all commercial AWS regions currently supported by AWS DevOps Agent.
Why it matters
This update enables DevOps teams and operations personnel to consolidate incident investigation and response within Slack, eliminating workflow fragmentation during high-severity incidents and improving efficiency.
