AWS HealthOmics publishes real-time execution metrics to Amazon CloudWatch, allowing users to monitor resource usage of running workflows. The 14 new metrics cover CPU/GPU utilization, memory usage, filesystem utilization, I/O metrics, network throughput, and temporary storage usage. This helps identify CPU or GPU bottlenecks, detect memory or storage exhaustion early, and track filesystem throughput without opening support cases. By comparing actual usage with allocated resources, users can fine-tune compute and storage configurations for workflows. These metrics are emitted using the Amazon CloudWatch OpenTelemetry standard and can be integrated with native CloudWatch dashboards and alarms as well as third-party monitoring tools. Real-time execution metrics are available in AWS HealthOmics regions in US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon), Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland, London), and Asia Pacific (Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo).
