AWS adds a new Availability Zone to the Europe (London) Region

AWS has added a fourth Availability Zone to the Europe (London) Region, enhancing capacity for AI/ML workloads and improving fault isolation for highly available architectures

AWS has introduced a fourth Availability Zone in the Europe (London) Region (eu-west-2), expanding infrastructure capacity to meet growing demand for cloud computing. This new zone offers next-generation AI and ML capabilities, including Amazon EC2, Trn3, and P6 accelerated instances, alongside general-purpose compute. With eu-west-2d, customers can distribute applications across four zones in eu-west-2, improving fault tolerance and supporting high-availability designs. AI and ML teams can now run training and inference workloads on the latest accelerated instance types entirely within the London Region. The new zone is accessible via the AWS Management Console, APIs, and existing workflows without tooling changes, with standard Europe (London) Region pricing applying.
