Amazon CloudFront Dynamic Image Transformation adds four new features

Amazon CloudFront Dynamic Image Transformation now offers enhanced smart cropping, automatic optimization, and an interactive playground for testing transformations

Today, AWS announced four new features for dynamic image transformation (DIT) in Amazon CloudFront. Customers can now use advanced smart cropping with combinations of faces, labels, text, logos, and custom Amazon Rekognition models, along with refined control over composing products, text, logos, and custom objects. Image optimization has also been enhanced, leveraging CloudFront's multi-tier device detection to deliver appropriately sized images for all browser and device types, from phones and tablets to smart TVs. DIT now includes an interactive playground for testing and validating image transformations, with a fully integrated ECS and Lambda architecture.
