Region expansion

Amazon EC2 C8gd, M8gd, and R8gd instances now available in additional AWS Regions

Amazon EC2 adds C8gd, M8gd, and R8gd instances powered by Graviton4 processors to new regions, offering up to 30% better performance and faster I/O for analytics and database workloads.

Amazon EC2 now offers C8gd, M8gd, and R8gd instances in Singapore, Mexico Central, and Zurich regions. Powered by AWS Graviton4 processors, these instances deliver up to 30% better performance than Graviton3-based instances, with up to 40% higher performance for I/O-intensive database workloads and up to 20% faster query results for real-time analytics. Built on the AWS Nitro System, they provide access to high-speed, low-latency local NVMe-based SSD storage. Available in 12 sizes, they support up to 50 Gbps network bandwidth and 40 Gbps to Amazon EBS, with an option to adjust bandwidth by 25% using EC2 instance bandwidth weighting. C8gd suits compute-intensive tasks, M8gd balanced workloads, and R8gd memory-intensive applications.

Why it matters
