Amazon ElastiCache for Valkey introduces ElastiCache Insights

Amazon ElastiCache for Valkey now offers ElastiCache Insights, a pre-built Amazon CloudWatch dashboard for node-based clusters, consolidating health, performance, and error metrics in a single view

Amazon ElastiCache for Valkey has introduced ElastiCache Insights for node-based clusters. This feature provides a pre-built dashboard in Amazon CloudWatch, aggregating cluster health, memory, compute, network, command throughput, latency, key space, and errors into a single view. It automatically collects data from OpenTelemetry metrics, allowing users to quickly assess regional cache workload health, detect nodes nearing memory, network, or connection limits, and filter views by cluster, shard, node, or availability zone. The dashboard can also be copied as a starting point for custom dashboards. Detailed monitoring publishes metrics every 15 seconds for viewing in the Metrics tab or custom dashboards. CloudWatch charges for OpenTelemetry metrics apply to ElastiCache detailed monitoring. To use it, open the Metrics tab in the Amazon ElastiCache console and select View in ElastiCache Insights, or choose ElastiCache Insights under infrastructure monitoring in the Amazon CloudWatch console. ElastiCache Insights is available for node-based Valkey clusters in all AWS regions where Amazon CloudWatch supports OpenTelemetry metrics.

Why it matters

ElastiCache Insights provides a streamlined way to monitor and analyze Valkey cluster performance, helping developers and operators manage cache environments more effectively
