AWS Secrets Manager adds managed external secrets support for Databricks and Twilio

AWS Secrets Manager now extends its managed external secrets capability to include Databricks and Twilio, enabling automatic rotation of credentials used by data pipelines and messaging applications to call these services

AWS Secrets Manager now supports managed external secrets for Databricks and Twilio, enabling automatic rotation of credentials used by data pipelines or messaging applications when calling these services. Rotation can be configured via the AWS Management Console or API without needing to write or maintain custom Lambda functions. For Databricks, personal access tokens used in jobs or CI/CD pipelines can be rotated. For Twilio, API keys and auth tokens used to send messages or make calls can be rotated. In both cases, credentials are stored as Secrets Manager managed external secrets with a rotation schedule set. Secrets Manager always returns current credentials, allowing applications to retrieve rotated values without code changes. These integrations join existing managed external secret support for BigID, Cisco Security Platform, Confluent Cloud, Datadog, GitLab, Jenkins, MongoDB Atlas, Netskope, Paddle, Salesforce, Snowflake, and SonarQube. Managed external secrets for Databricks and Twilio are available in all AWS regions where AWS Secrets Manager managed external secrets are supported.

Why it matters

AWS Secrets Manager is a service that helps secure and manage the secrets a user stores in the cloud, such as API keys, database credentials, or tokens. This update enhances credential management for Databricks and Twilio, improving security and operational efficiency.
