AWS now allows customers to sign up for AWS and pay invoices using ACH direct debit
AWS now enables US customers to sign up and pay AWS invoices via ACH direct debit, eliminating the need for credit or debit cards by securely linking a US bank account.
AWS now allows US customers to sign up and pay AWS service invoices via ACH direct debit. Customers can securely link personal or business bank accounts to manage AWS invoices directly from USD bank accounts. This feature eliminates the need for credit or debit cards during sign-up. During sign-up, customers select 'bank account' on the AWS sign-up page, choose their bank, and authenticate using their bank's mobile app or online banking credentials. This securely verifies ownership and links the bank account to the AWS account. By default, this account is used for future AWS invoices. Existing customers can add a bank account via the AWS Billing and Cost Management console's payment settings page. After selecting 'Add payment method' and choosing 'Link bank account,' they complete the same bank selection and authentication flow. Once verified, the bank account becomes an available payment method for future AWS invoices. ACH direct debit is available at no additional cost to AWS users with USD bank accounts.
Why it matters
This update benefits AWS new and existing users seeking more flexible payment options, especially those who prefer not to use credit or debit cards.
