Amazon Location Service now includes Point of Interest (POI) category and density filtering in map styles. Developers can use the GetStyleDescriptor API to control which categories of places (such as Food & Drink, Transit, or Accommodations) and how many POIs appear on a map, all configured server-side. This ensures correct map display without additional client-side code, across web, mobile, and headless server-side renderers. Use cases include property listing sites showing only accommodations, logistics apps displaying only transit and fuel, and tourist maps highlighting sights and dining. Amazon Location Service is available in multiple AWS Regions including US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Spain), Europe (Stockholm), South America (São Paulo), and AWS GovCloud (US-West).
