New feature

Amazon Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow now offers AI agent skills

Amazon MWAA integrates with the Agent Toolkit for AWS to provide built-in AI agent skills for authoring, debugging, testing, and upgrading MWAA workflows.

Amazon Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow (MWAA) integrates with Agent Toolkit for AWS to provide AI agent skills, allowing direct interaction with an AI coding assistant in natural language for creating, debugging, testing, and upgrading MWAA workflows. These skills reduce manual effort in building and maintaining data pipelines; for example, describing an ETL pipeline in natural language generates a functional DAG with task dependencies and error handling. Available for both Amazon MWAA Provisioned and Serverless environments across all AWS regions where Amazon MWAA is offered, getting started requires installing the aws-data-analytics plugin and configuring the AI coding assistant for MWAA agent skills. See the Amazon MWAA user guide and Agent Toolkit for AWS documentation for details.

Why it matters

Data engineers and data scientists can streamline the development and management of MWAA workflows.
