Amazon Redshift adds rg.large and rg.12xlarge instance sizes in AWS GovCloud (US) Regions

Amazon Redshift now offers new RG instance sizes in AWS GovCloud (US), improving performance and reducing costs. Existing clusters can be resized or upgraded to these instances.

Amazon Redshift introduces rg.large and rg.12xlarge instance sizes for RG instances in the AWS GovCloud (US-West) and AWS GovCloud (US-East) Regions. These instances deliver up to 2.4x better performance and 30% lower cost per vCPU compared to previous RA3 instances. They include Redshift's custom vectorized data lake query engine, enabling SQL analytics across data warehouses and data lakes with a single engine. The new sizes are available in patch version P202 and later. Customers can resize existing RG or RA3 clusters using Elastic Resize or Classic Resize, and RA3 customers can upgrade to RG via Snapshot & Restore. RG instances come in four sizes-rg.large, rg.xlarge, rg.4xlarge, and rg.12xlarge-with flexible pricing, including On-Demand and 1-year/3-year Reserved Instances with various payment options.
