Announcing Blockchain Snapshots on AWS for node bootstrapping

AWS announces Blockchain Snapshots, providing pre-synced blockchain data in Amazon S3 for Ethereum and Solana nodes, enabling faster node setup by using snapshots instead of peer-to-peer syncing.

AWS has launched blockchain snapshots for Ethereum and Solana chain nodes, hosting pre-synchronized chain data on Amazon S3 to bootstrap nodes from snapshots instead of peer-to-peer sync. These snapshots, optimized for parallel extraction across multiple cores, reduce setup times for Amazon EC2 instances and are available for free in US East (N. Virginia), Europe (Ireland), and Asia Pacific (Tokyo), requiring same-region Amazon EC2 instances and Amazon S3 gateway VPC endpoints. They can be used for adding capacity to RPC fleets, recovering failed nodes, and resynchronizing corrupted databases.

Why it matters

Targeted at blockchain developers and node operators running Ethereum or Solana. It significantly reduces node setup time.
