AWS Lambda supports Graviton5-powered C9g, C9gd, M9g, and M9gd instances on Lambda Managed Instances, delivering up to 25% better compute performance compared to Graviton4-powered instances
AWS Lambda now supports C9g, C9gd, M9g, and M9gd instances powered by AWS Graviton5 on Lambda managed instances. This enables Lambda functions to run on the latest Graviton processors, delivering up to 25% better compute performance than Graviton4-based instances. Lambda managed instances let you run Lambda functions on AWS EC2 instances while maintaining Lambda's operational simplicity. They fully manage infrastructure tasks such as instance lifecycle, OS and runtime patching, routing, load balancing, and autoscaling, allowing you to focus on writing code. When creating a capacity provider, you can specify the desired Graviton5 instance type (C9g, C9gd, M9g, M9gd). By default, Lambda automatically includes Graviton5 instances in the instance selection list based on the function's configured architecture, memory size, and memory-to-vCPU ratio. AWS Lambda managed instances support C9g, C9gd, M9g, and M9gd instance types in all AWS regions where Lambda managed instances and these EC2 instances are available.
