AWS Lambda recursive loop detection now works with EventBridge Custom event buses, automatically stopping loops and protecting against runaway usage and unexpected charges. Enabled by default with no configuration required.
AWS Lambda's recursion detection automatically identifies and stops recursion loops between Lambda event functions and Amazon EventBridge custom event buses, protecting against runaway usage and unexpected charges. This feature is enabled by default and supported in all commercial regions where EventBridge custom event buses are available. Users can disable detection using the PutFunctionRecursionConfig API if they intentionally use recursion loops.
