Web Search on Amazon Bedrock now supports domain filtering and user location controls
Amazon Bedrock's Web Search now supports domain filtering and user location controls, enhancing response precision. These are configured directly in existing OpenAI Responses API requests.
Amazon Bedrock's Web Search now supports two new controls to improve model response accuracy: domain filtering and user location control. Domain filtering lets you specify up to 100 allowed domains to limit results to trusted sources, or up to 100 blocked domains to exclude unwanted sources. User location control optionally enables location parameters for region-specific results, useful for local services or availability queries. These features are available in all supported AWS regions: US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), and AWS GovCloud (US-West). For details, see the Web Search section in the Amazon Bedrock user guide. Visit the Amazon Bedrock pricing page for cost information.
Why it matters
This update is useful for developers and organizations that need to control the precision of AI model responses, especially when relying on trusted sources or requiring location-specific information.
