Amazon Aurora MySQL 8.4.8 now generally available

Amazon Aurora MySQL now supports MySQL 8.4.8, adding PQ-TLS, transaction timeout, multi-source replication, and delayed replication features

Amazon Aurora MySQL-Compatible Edition 8.4 now supports MySQL 8.4.8. Key enhancements include PQ-TLS for post-quantum encryption of data in transit, transaction timeouts to prevent long-running transactions from blocking innoDB purge, and multi-source replication for integrating data from multiple sources. Delayed replication allows setting replication lag to prevent accidental data loss. These replication features are detailed in the release notes. This update is available in all AWS regions where Aurora MySQL is offered. Database upgrades can be performed during scheduled maintenance windows, and enabling automatic minor version upgrades allows using AWS Organizations' rollout policy for phased cluster-wide upgrades.
