Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL-compatible edition now supports PostgreSQL versions 18.6, 17.11, 16.15, 15.19, and 14.24, including bug fixes from the PostgreSQL community and Aurora-specific enhancements. Upgrading to the latest minor version applies these improvements and addresses Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs). Upgrades can be performed during scheduled maintenance windows. Enabling automatic minor version upgrades allows AWS Organizations to roll out upgrades gradually, starting with less critical environments and then proceeding to more important ones. For details, see upgrading Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL DB clusters. Amazon Aurora delivers high performance and availability at global scale with full PostgreSQL compatibility, offering scalable serverless compute, multi-region Aurora Global Database, Aurora I/O-Optimized for I/O-intensive workloads, and built-in security with continuous backups.
