AWS Transfer Family now automatically approves SFTP connector quota increases up to 1,000

AWS Transfer Family now automatically approves requests to increase the SFTP connector quota up to 1,000 connectors per AWS account in each AWS Region, eliminating the need for manual approval.

AWS Transfer Family now automatically approves up to 1,000 SFTP connectors per region per account, allowing additional connectors without manual approval as file transfer needs grow. The default quota remains around 100 per region and can still be increased via the AWS Service Quota console. Automatic approval applies to connectors using service-managed or Amazon VPC Lattice endpoints. For quotas exceeding 1,000, submit a higher quota request through the service quota console. This feature is available in all AWS regions where Transfer Family provides SFTP connectors. See AWS Transfer Family SFTP connector documentation for details.

Why it matters

This change affects users whose file transfer needs are growing. Users of AWS Transfer Family SFTP connectors can now add connectors without waiting for manual approval.
