Amazon WorkSpaces Applications introduces unified graphics images

Amazon WorkSpaces Applications announces unified graphics images, a single image type that works across all supported graphics instance families including G4dn, G5, G6, and G7, simplifying image management and making it easier to adopt newer GPU generations.

Amazon WorkSpaces Applications now offers a unified graphics image for all supported graphics instance families, including G4dn, G5, G6, and G7. This single image replaces the need for dedicated images per graphics generation, allowing you to build and manage fleets on any supported family. The console now displays all compatible instance types, helping you choose the right price and performance for your workloads. You can also change instance types between supported families for fleets built with the unified image, a capability previously limited to sizing within a single family. The unified graphics image is available in all AWS commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) regions where Amazon WorkSpaces Applications graphics instances are supported. Upgrade existing graphics images via managed image updates or start fresh by launching an image builder from the unified base image. For more information, see Amazon WorkSpaces Applications documentation.
