Amazon Bedrock expands Claude model availability to India, South Korea, and Singapore
Amazon Bedrock now offers Anthropic's Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5, and Claude Haiku 4.5 in India, Opus 5 and Sonnet 5 in South Korea, and Sonnet 5 in Singapore, enabling customers to process data locally at scale
Amazon Bedrock now offers Anthropic's Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5, and Claude Haiku 4.5 in India, Claude Opus 5 and Claude Sonnet 5 in South Korea, and Claude Sonnet 5 in Singapore. This allows customers requiring localized data processing in finance, healthcare, and public sectors to use these models at scale within their regions. In India, regional endpoints are provided via cross-region inference between Mumbai and Hyderabad. Indian customers can access these models in the India region while also using supported global cross-region inference. In South Korea, Amazon Bedrock supports the Claude Opus 5 and Claude Sonnet 5 models via in-region inference in the Seoul region (ap-northeast-2). In Singapore (ap-southeast-1), Amazon Bedrock supports the Claude Sonnet 5 model via in-region inference. Amazon Bedrock processes inference requests and data only within the called region. For the latest model availability in each region, see the Amazon Bedrock user guide's 'region availability per model' section.
Why it matters
Amazon Bedrock is a service that allows developers to access and integrate various large language models into their applications. In-region inference ensures that data does not cross borders, which is critical for meeting regulatory and security requirements.
