Amazon CloudWatch Database Insights now supports self-managed PostgreSQL

Amazon CloudWatch Database Insights now enables monitoring of self-managed PostgreSQL instances on Amazon EC2, using the same console and workflows as AWS-managed databases.

AWS has announced support for self-managed PostgreSQL databases in Amazon CloudWatch Database Insights. This allows monitoring of self-managed PostgreSQL instances running on Amazon EC2 alongside Amazon RDS and Amazon Aurora, providing a unified view of the entire database fleet in one console. CloudWatch Database Insights is an observability solution that helps monitor database health, diagnose issues, and resolve performance bottlenecks. With this update, the CloudWatch agent collects health and performance data from self-managed PostgreSQL instances. Databases appear in the fleet view with live performance data, including load, wait event analysis, query-level statistics, and host metrics. Users can monitor and troubleshoot self-managed PostgreSQL instances using the same familiar console and workflows already used for AWS-managed databases. This support is available in all AWS commercial regions.
