Amazon Linux 2027 now available in public preview

Amazon Linux introduces AL2027, enhancing security and performance for cloud-native workloads

AWS has announced the public preview of Amazon Linux 2027 (AL2027), built on AL2023. It targets web applications, databases, containerized microservices, AI/ML workloads, and large-scale infrastructure. The update features a kernel version 7.1+, default-enforced SELinux, improved cryptographic performance via AWS-LC, and accelerator drivers including AWS Neuron support. Preview AMIs for both x86-64 and ARM are available across all commercial regions, with container base images on Amazon ECR Public Gallery. Feedback can be submitted through the AL2027 GitHub repository, with full change details in the AL2027 documentation.
