Announcing consumption-based pricing for short-term memory in Amazon Bedrock AgentCore
Amazon Bedrock AgentCore now prices short-term memory based on data ingested, retrieved, and stored, replacing the previous flat rate per event. Ingestion, retrieval, and storage are billed per GB, with most workloads seeing lower costs.
Amazon Bedrock AgentCore's short-term memory (STM) pricing now uses data consumption instead of a per-event fee: $1 per GB for ingest, $0.20 per GB for retrieval, and $0.10 per GB-month for storage. Ingest and retrieval are billed per event from 12 KB to 64 KB, while storage is charged at actual size. Small payloads see the greatest cost savings, and storage costs can be managed by setting shorter TTLs for memory resources. Long-term memory pricing remains unchanged. The consumption-based rates are available in all AWS regions where AgentCore Memory is offered.
Why it matters
Developers building AI agents will benefit from better cost management for short-term memory.
